Reflection: Halfway Check-In

At this stage of the WPCredits project, I have made progress in my learning and participation in the WordPress community. I completed several Learn WordPress courses and chose the Polyglots team as my main contribution area.

My work has focused on translating WordPress-related strings into Costa Rican Spanish (es_CR). I have submitted translation suggestions and am waiting for them to be reviewed. This has helped me understand that contributing to an open-source project requires patience, attention to detail, and collaboration with other community members.

One challenge has been ensuring that translations are clear, natural, and consistent with the original meaning. I am also learning that contributions may need review before they are approved and included in a project.

For the next stage, I plan to follow up on the status of my translation suggestions, continue improving my work, document my contributions, and complete the remaining WPCredits requirements. Overall, this experience is helping me develop my skills and understand the value of community collaboration in open-source software.
