Reflection: Choosing Your Team and Project

I chose the Polyglots team because I wanted to contribute to the WordPress community by helping make its content more accessible to Spanish-speaking users, especially those who use Costa Rican Spanish (es_CR).

My contribution focuses on translating strings from WordPress-related projects into Spanish. Through this work, I have learned the importance of using clear, natural, and consistent language while preserving the original meaning of each message.

One of the challenges is ensuring that translations sound natural in Spanish and fit the context in which they will appear. I also need to pay attention to terminology, placeholders, and formatting so that the translated content remains accurate and functional.

I chose this project because it allows me to contribute to an open-source community while improving my translation skills and understanding how localization helps people use technology in their own language.

As I continue participating in WPCredits, I hope to improve my contributions, learn from experienced translators, and help make WordPress more accessible to Spanish-speaking users.
